Hon. Shannon Holmes
Hon. Shannon A. Holmes is an executive committee member-at-large for the All Rise Board of Directors and the executive presiding judge of specialty courts for Michigan’s 36th District Court. She presides over adult drug treatment court, veterans treatment court, mental health court, and a women’s empowerment docket. Previously, she served as a federal investigator for the U. S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and as a judge advocate in the Michigan National Guard. She has also held numerous positions for the City of Detroit, including assistant corporation counsel, legislative assistant corporation counsel, administrative hearings officer, human resources director, and chief of staff for the office of the mayor.
Judge Holmes is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Association of Black Judges of Michigan, Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, Association of Black Law Alumni at University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, Michigan Drug Treatment Court Advisory Committee, Responsibility.org, Appalachian/Midwest Regional Judicial Opioid Initiative, and board of directors for the Michigan Association of Treatment Court Professionals. She earned a bachelor of science degree from Dillard University, a juris doctor degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, and a doctor of ministry from the Ecumenical Theological Seminary.
