New E-Learning Courses on MOUD

All Rise is excited to announce that four new online course modules on medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) are now available in the All Rise E-Learning Center. These self-paced modules were developed in partnership with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and provide a foundational understanding of MOUD and their application for justice-involved populations:

  • Understanding Opioid Use Disorder
  • Evidence-Based Treatment Approaches: Medications
  • Evidence-Based Treatment Approaches: Counseling Interventions
  • MOUD in Systems and Legal Context

Learners will explore the neurobiology of opioid use disorder and the clinical use of methadone, buprenorphine, and extended-release naltrexone for opioid use disorder treatment. The modules address barriers, legal frameworks, and the patient-centered strategies—including Motivational Interviewing and trauma-informed care—needed to optimize outcomes in both healthcare and legal contexts. They also explore practical and legal challenges in treatment courts, including the roles of courts and providers, treatment engagement, compliance monitoring, toxicology testing, ADA requirements, and decisions about MOUD continuation or discontinuation when court sanctions are being considered.
