Christine Carpenter
Hon. Christine Carpenter (ret.) was first appointed to Missouri’s 13th Judicial Circuit Court bench in 1999, and she served as a treatment court judge until her retirement in 2017. Under her leadership, the 13th Circuit developed additional adult, impaired driving, mental health, and veterans treatment courts, and the Boone County Drug Court was selected as a national mentor court. She has served as a board member for the Missouri Association of Treatment Court Professionals and was a member of the Missouri Supreme Court Committee on Alternative Treatment Courts since its creation in 2007 through 2017.
For more than 20 years, Judge Carpenter served as faculty for All Rise’s Treatment Court Institute. She was a Class A Trustee on the General Service Board of Alcoholics Anonymous from 2016 to 2022. Since her retirement, she has continued to serve as a senior judge and has provided training internationally on a variety of justice topics. Judge Carpenter earned a bachelor of arts degree in art history and archaeology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a juris doctor degree from the University of Missouri School of Law.
